Burgholz, situated on a ridge above the Wohra valley is about 378m above sea level. It has about 400 inhabitants and has been part of the town of Kirchhain since 1971.
Since the middle of the last century, its exposed position on the edge of the forest of Burgwald, has made it ideal for day visitors and for guests seeking peace and quiet. A large number of well-signposted pathways in the surrounding woods make it suitable for relaxation and active recreation.
